Starting Fitness In December

Story time about how I (Ian) re-started my fitness in the worst month to do it.

After being an athlete my whole life, I decided to relax that in college...a little too much. Several , late night , and lack of movement later, I was 40lb heavier than when I started.

After graduating I was looking at myself in the mirror one day and wasn't happy with what I saw. I tried to do it on my own with my apartment's gym, but couldn't stay consistent.

Bri and I decided to join the local gym down the street from us since they had a group fitness class. I was hooked from day 1, and joined in the month with the most food/rest/booze associated with it. My drive of wanting to better myself was stronger than those temptations (though I still had some indulgence )

With the love and support of that community, I started a 2-year journey into losing 50lbs!

It took consistent workouts (3-4 days per week) and some work on my nutrition, but I was happy with what I saw in the mirror again!

In the last year or so of growing IBX into what it is today, my personal fitness/nutrition took a bit of a backseat again. Turns out owning a gym doesn't mean you work out all day every day. Although I don't have as much weight to lose, I'm still determined and ready to get back down to where I was before

So if you're thinking of re-starting your fitness in January, that's totally fine. But if you're not happy now, and you feel that drive to want to change, don't let the number of the month stop you
